Jonathan Allen answered on 24 Nov 2023:
My favourite project is the one that I did for my PhD (Doctor of Philosophy, a second university degree) when I researched how to make aeroplanes lighter so that they would need less fuel (and cause less pollution) while also staying strong enough to fly. I worked mostly on my own to research this, create a new computer programme, run many many experiments on it and then present the results to worldwide experts. This involved travelling to places like America to present my work. I really enjoyed the research process and the satisfaction of getting it all to work, plus it was awesome to stand up in front of 100s of people to present the results in America! And on top of that, the result was a way to make aeroplanes more environmentally friendly, so very good to stop climate change.
