As a world, we need to reduce our reliance on oil and gas. We can’t forgot that it was oil that got us to this point so far, we wouldn’t have developed technology to this point without it! But now we need to focus the effort into developing renewable energy, like wind power or hydrogen. We need government to help reduce the cost of producing renewable energy, and also to develop the supply chain so we can get renewable energy to people who want to use it.
Individually, we can make small changes like supporting companies and buying products that are carbon neutral. Using public transport instead of driving cars etc. All our small contributions help!

As Yumi mentions, we need to move our energy supply to renewable energy (wind, solar, bioenergy, hydro) and also nuclear energy to replace the fossil fuels. We will use electricity for heating and transport much more in the future. At home we have electric only heating with a heat pump, solar panels and an electric car. There is a move to more renewables, but it takes too long! One way of is to get community groups, schools and other organisations to think about what they can do and set up community projects to put in renewable solutions.
