Question: how long did it take you to become a blackbelt

Unfortunately, I am not yet a black belt in karate but I hope to be able to do my black belt grading within the next year! I started training when I was 15 years old in November 2012. I managed to get to brown belt in 3 years and by the time I was 18, I had one grade to go before I tried for black belt. I took some time out of training when I went to university from 2016 to 2019. I had to take more time out due to the lockdowns from 2020 to 2022. So, I have only been back at training for a little over a year and a half now, so I hope to complete my black belt grade within the next year.
